Review of minutes:

100117 Trustee Jager made a motion to accept the September 12, 2017 regular board minutes as presented. Trustee Schroeder seconded. CARRIED.

Review of Bills:

100217 Trustee Jager made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Treasurer Halbower seconded. CARRIED.

Business from the Floor: Julie stated that they have started a book club at the library on the 3rd Tuesday

of the month from 6-7pm. There are a number of residents that are attending.

Treasurer’s Report:

100317 Trustee Jager made the motion to accept the treasurers report as presented. Trustee Schroeder seconded. CARRIED.

Department Reports: Fire Chief Hawk reported total man-hours of 434 for September.

Expenses for the 206 account were $6,492.23 which is currently 86% under budget.

Unfinished Business: Fire Department escorts – tabled

New Business: Presentation by Patrick Finnegan & Mark Eisenbarth – Muskegon County Administrator on the millage coming up this November. The millage will be used for youth programs, treatment for youth,

after school programs, respite care, etc.

Tree removal at fire department – there are 2 trees by the fire department that are growing into the septic

system and need to be removed. Marc has 3 quotes: Acme – $600, Payne Outdoor Services – 800, and West Michigan Tree Services – $952.

100417 Trustee Jager made the motion to accept Acme’s quote of $600 to remove and clean up

the 2 maple trees by fire station. Trustee Schroeder seconded. CARRIED.

Purchase of fire hose, nozzles, and adapters. Bids: West Shore Fire Inc. – $2,082.00, Darley Fire Equipment – $2,513.60, Alexis Fire Equipment – $2,493.90.

100517 Trustee Jager made the motion to purchase fire hose, adapters, and nozzles for $2082 plus shipping from Darley Fire Equipment. Clerk Johnson seconded. CARRIED.

New hire for fire department: Marc requested to add Eric Kanouff as a probationary fire fighter.

100617 Trustee Jager made the motion to add Eric Kanouff as a probationary fire fighter.

Trustee Schroeder seconded. CARRIED.

Table the replacement of street signs for another quote.

Flags and Veteran Markers: Received invoices from Cynthia Schropp for American Legion for flags and markers. We pay half on markers and up to $250 for flags. Markers $309.65, flags 2016 – $207, 2017 – $213.12. For a total of $574.95

100717 Treasurer Halbower made the motion to pay ½ on markers and flags up to $250 for a total of $574.92. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED.
