Board Meeting Minutes for November 10, 2015

Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Pledge of Allegiance given by all present.

Roll Call: Trustee Wilson, Trustee Jager, Clerk Johnson, Supervisor Noble, and Treasurer Halbower will.

Review of minutes:

110115 Trustee Wilson made a motion to accept the October 10, 2015 minutes as presented. Clerk Johnson seconded. CARRIED.

Review of Bills:

110215 Trustee Jager made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Trustee Wilson seconded. CARRIED.

Business from the Floor: Mr. Jeff Lohman County Commissioner talked about a presentation put on by Jonathon Wilson regarding internet access to rural areas that he attended. There will be a survey for both residential and businesses. This will help determine where internet access is lacking.

Treasurer’s Report:

110315 Trustee Wilson made the motion to accept the treasurers report as presented. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED.

Department Reports:

Fire Chief Stevens reported man-hours for the month of October. Total man hours 185.5 hours.
Expenses for the 206 account were $14,739.89 and is currently 7% under budget. The 216 account had $0 expenses.

Correspondence: Bill has the internet surveys and will send them out with the tax statements. The survey will detail areas most in need, and there may be the possibility of some grants with Connect MI. There is a link to the survey
to be taken online. We will also post a link on our website.

No Unfinished Business:
New Business: Poverty Exemption Guidelines for 2016

110415 Trustee Jager made the motion to adopt the Poverty Guidelines for 2016. Trustee Wilson seconded. CARRIED.

Cemetery Ordinance Violation: Curt Crandell from Crandell Funeral Home removed to cremations from cemetery
and put them in the casket with the Mother. They were buried at her funeral. He violated 2 ordinances doing this.
After discussion it was decided to send him a letter, and if it every happens again we would pursue legal action.

QVF computer needs replacing – It was suggested to check and see if the laptop purchased for Planning Commission
could be used for this. Melanie will check on this.

Joe Brezina owner of Finders store in town – concerned about a garage sale that has gone on for a few months, and is
a violation of our ordinance. It was just reported the previous week and has been stopped already.
