Board Meeting Minutes for June 14, 2016

Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Pledge of Allegiance given by all present.

Roll Call: Trustee Wilson, Trustee Jager, Clerk Johnson, Supervisor Noble and Treasurer Halbower present.

Add to agenda: 12.2 Roof over mobile home
Agenda is set.

Review of minutes:

060116 Trustee Wilson made a motion to accept the May 10, 2016 minutes as presented. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED.

060216 Trustee Wilson made a motion to accept the May 10, 2016 budget workshop minutes as presented. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED.

Review of Bills:

060316 Trustee Wilson made the motion to pay the bills as presented. Treasurer Halbower seconded. CARRIED.

Business from the Floor: Ms. Shown Grabinski from Muskegon Central Dispatch explained how they would do addressing for new homes and answered questions.
Mr. Geoffrey Nolan, candidate for District Court Judge introduced himself.
Ms. Julie Vanderboegh talked about the Library millage and gave a library update.
Ms. Jenny McNeil, candidate for Probate Court Judge introduced herself.
Ms. Colleen Lamonte candidate for State Representative introduced herself.
Ms. Sherry Greenwood, Secretary of Friends of the Library talked about the Library millage.
Mr. Rodney Dial, Brickyard Road talked about the condition of the roads.

Treasurer’s Report:

060416 Trustee Wilson made the motion to accept the treasurers report as presented. Trustee Jager seconded. CARRIED.

Department Reports: Art gave the board his written report.

Correspondence: None

Unfinished Business: Procedure for Inspection Violations – presented to the board: When proper permits are not being pulled for work performed or permit conditions are not complied with – the applicable inspector will issue a warning letter. The recipient has 14 days to comply. Violations of these items will e handled as a civil infraction after 14 days, per Ordinance #2001-1 “Municipal Civil
Infraction.”

060516 Trustee Wilson made the motion to adopt the Procedure for Inspection Violations. Clerk Johnson seconded. CARRIED.

Investigative Fee: For instances where a permit is required, but not obtained, and investigative fee may be assessed by Holton Township in the amount established by the Township Board as $50.

060616 Trustee Jager made the motion that when an investigative fee is required the change will be $50 as established by the Board. Trustee Wilson seconded. CARRIED.

New Business:

Replacement sign for the Cemetery: Bid 1 – Port City Signs $1949.01 Bid 2 – Lakeshore Signs $2362.00

060716 Trustee Jager made the motion to accept the bid of $1949.02 from Port City Signs. Trustee Wilson seconded. CARRIED.

Roof over mobile home at the park: Bid 1 – County Line Roofing, LLC $6000 Bid 2 – Slater Contractors $12,384

060816 Trustee Wilson made the motion to accept the bid of $6000 from County Line Roofing to do the roof over the mobile home at the park. Clerk Johnson seconded. CARRIED.
