Review of minutes:
020117  Trustee Jager made a motion to accept the January 10, 2017 Board minutes as presented. Trustee Schroeder seconded. CARRIED.

Review of Bills:
020217  Trustee Jager made the motion to pay the bills as presented with the additions of the bill for West Shore Fire. Trustee Schroeder seconded. CARRIED.

Business from the Floor:
Crystal Smith, Cedar Creek Supervisor invited Holton Township to participate in the tire collection removal that is coming up in a couple of months.

Treasurer’s Report:
020317  Trustee Jager made the motion to accept the treasurers report as presented. ClerkJohnson seconded. CARRIED.

Department Reports:
Fire Chief Stevens reported total man hours of 157 for January.  Expenses for the 206 account were $8,868.01 which is currently 18% under budget. The 216 account had zero expenses.  The kitchen remodel has been started.

Rental Ordinance – After discussion motion was made to do away with the Ordinance.

New Business:
Resolution to close the roads for Holton Days
020517 Treasurer Halbower made the motion to approve the Resolution for closing the roads for Holton Days. Trustee Jager seconded. ROLL CALL VOTE: Trustee Schroeder-YES, Treasurer Halbower-YES, Supervisor Jager-YES, Clerk Johnson-YES, Trustee Jager-YES. RESOLUTION PASSES.

Fire Department protective gear: Marc would like permission to purchase protection lenses for eyeglasses that do not fog up in the air mask for one of the fire fighters. Cost $89
020617 Trustee Jager made the motion to allow the purchase of the protective lenses for glasses tobe used in the air mask. Trustee Schroeder seconded. CARRIED.

The AED defibrillators no longer have replacement parts available. There is going to be a county wide purchase which will bring the cost down between $1400-
$2000 each. Marc would like permission to purchase 2.
020717 Trustee Jager made the motion to allow Marc to purchase 2 new defibrillators at a cost of up to $2000 each. Treasurer Halbower seconded. CARRIED.

Planning Commission appointee: Ben Slater recommended
020817  Trustee Jager made the motion to appoint Ben Slater to the Planning Commission for the partial term to expire in January 2018. Treasurer Halbower seconded. CARRIED.

Resignation and fill alternate position on BOR.
020917  Trustee Jager made the motion to accept the resignation of Bill Van Dyke and to appointTom West to fill the Alternate position. Treasurer Halbower seconded. CARRIED.

Resignation of Christian Thompson as Transfer Station Attendant.
021017  Trustee Jager made the motion to accept the resignation of Christian Thompson with regret. Trustee Schroeder seconded. CARRIED.

County Flag – County Clerk Waters purchased a number of County Flags and graciously offered one to Holton Township. We would need to purchase a flag pole for this.
021117  Treasurer Halbower made the motion to purchase a flag pole so we can accept the offer of the County flag. Trustee Schroeder seconded. CARRIED.

Blakkan House – discussion whether we would like to do anything to acquire this house and property that will be coming up for tax sale. No action taken.

Voting Equipment Resolution – We need to adopt a resolution to submit a Grant Agreement to State for the purchase of new voting equipment.
